ISTE is the preeminent voice on the topic of student engagement through effective use of educational technology. Membership in this organization supplies the user with a myriad of resources for the development of 21st century skills for students. There are also webinars, professional resources, and a commons area for connecting, communicating, and collaborating with other professionals around the world.
The Georgia Library Media Association provides a voice for Georgia Media Specialists in the legislative process. In this time of budget cuts and intervention by those that are not knowledgeable of the value added by a strong library program, this association provides opportunities to lead the change in paradigm for such people. There are leadership opportunities for those within the profession, as well as opportunities to network statewide on current trends and issues, and to partake in professional development opportunities.
